DAYTON – Greenville junior Aaron Balsbaugh will represent the Wave and the community at next weekend’s state track & field tournament in Columbus.
Balsbaugh qualified for the ride after placing second in the 800 meter race at Division I regional meet in Dayton’s Welcome Stadium Friday. He also broke the former school record with a time of 1:53.82.
“It feels great,” Balsbaugh told The Early Bird about making it to state. “I never would have thought here, but I am definitely very excited to be able to go and compete with the best at state!”
Greenville’s Harmony Kolling will also represent Greenville at state in the pole vault. Kolling placed second at regional competition to advance.
Anna Bradfield just missed the state cut placing 11th at Friday’s regional meet in the 800 meter with a time of 2:30.62
