Motorcyclist injured in crash on 127

DARKE COUNTY – With all the traffic surrounding the World’s Longest Yard Sale on US 127 this weekend, accidents are almost expected. At approximately 4 p.m. Thursday a Russia man was hospitalized after pulling out in front of an oncoming SUV near York Woods.

Preliminary investigation revealed the man, who was driving a Honda motorcycle, attempted to turn southbound from the parking lot of a diner on the 9500 block of US 127. He was struck near York Woods by an oncoming Ford Edge SUV headed northbound on US 127.

The male driver of the motorcycle was taken to Wayne HealthCare with a head injury. He was cited for Failure to Yield. The female driver of the Edge was not injured.
