Readers Write – Reestablish Nation Under God

Dear citizens of Darke County,

I do not know if this will be published before the celebration of our Independence on July 4th, but I wanted to share some thoughts with the citizens of our county.

Have you taken the time to read our Declaration of Independence and Constitution, especially the Bill of Rights, recently? Do you value the rights that these documents are meant to guarantee to us? In appreciation for the founders of our country, for all who have died defending our country and those who still serve to keep us free, consider reading the documents on which this country was founded. Then ask yourself, if you feel our government is protecting our rights or systematically taking these right away. If you value religious freedom and the other rights set forth in the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights, let your voice be heard before it is too late.

Our founding fathers established the country on the law of nature and law of God. Our government is systematically removing God from the equation and in doing so forfeiting our right to God’s protection of this country. Our present government does not want to offend people, who either do not believe in God or whose religious beliefs are greatly different from our own or whose moral values are far removed from the tenets put forth by our Creator for man’s spiritual and physical welfare. It does not say anywhere in the Declaration of independence or the Constitution that special interest groups are to get preferential treatment. They do however protect religious freedom, the right to bear arms and the right to own property for all citizens of our country. We need to wake up and do as our forefathers did and reestablish this Nation under God, so that he will again look with favor on our country, which has essentially abandoned Him.
