GREENVILLE – Staff of the Garst Museum in Greenville were evacuated Wednesday afternoon when smoke was discovered inside the building.

The fire department immediately responded to the scene to investigate the cause. According to a staff member, a “light haze” was seen in the Annie Oakley display room and she could smell what she thought was electrical burning.

The Greenville Fire Department were unable to find a cause and the smoke was gone by the time they arrived. No damage was visible and staff were instructed to keep an eye on it and make a report if necessary.
