Wilkerson jailed on $20,000 bond in assault case

GREENVILLE – Darke County Common Pleas Court Judge Jonathan P. Hein set bail at $20,000 for 18-year-old Zackary T. Wilkerson Thursday morning.

Wilkerson appeared via video connection from the Darke County jail after turning himself in Tuesday night after an arrest warrant was issued for Felonious Assault, a second degree felony. He was charged after allegedly being involved in a physical altercation at a Greenville residence earlier this month while having a knife.

Wilkerson was granted Intervention in Lieu of Conviction (ILC) after pleading guilty Aug. 15 in a prior drug trafficking case. He faces up to 8 years in prison and a $15,000 fine if convicted as charged. His ILC status could also be in jeopardy due to violating the terms and conditions set by the court.

Wilkerson will be arraigned on the new charge if a Grand Jury decides to indict him Aug. 28 on the new charge.
